LIFESTYLE: This One Tip Will Take The Pressure Off Your January Detox

As much as I enjoy the Christmas holidays, I think it's safe to say we can all over indulge a little in December. Then January comes and we are all jumping on the healthy-eating bandwagon again.

This is great, I have no issue with it. In fact, I actually love wiping the slate clean again in January and regaining my waist back!

There is a lot in the news at the moment about Veganism. A couple of years ago the figures showed that it was on the rise by 360% and so now, that figure must be off the scale! It's great that it is so much more popular now, but it doesn't always suit everybody.

Here is my number one top tip though for anybody going through a diet over hall...

STOP PUTTING YOURSELF IN A BOX!

Firstly, to say you're vegan when you have not adopted a vegan lifestyle can ruffle a few feathers always and so I tend to go for more of the mostly 'plant-based diet' label. The thing is, I am not vegan, nor am I a true vegetarian either as I will eat fish maybe once a week, however, I still feel like I have to label myself when people ask.

I say, take the pressure off. Step back and look at your diet, be conscious of what you feel like when you eat different foods and then adjust your diet accordingly.

This is what I found from my diet...

- Dairy does not suit my body. Therefore I no longer eat milk, yoghurt, cream, ice cream etc. However, I can eat a little cheese now and again

- Meat is far too heavy and I find I can not digest it properly.

- I can eat a little amount of fish now and again. Too much makes me sickly

- Gluten does not seem to bother me and so I will continue to eat it here and there.

And so on...

Don't put so much pressure on yourself and say you can or can't eat something because the label says so. Instead, create your own diet that suits you and then go from there.

I hope this helps with all the 'detox' pressure cooker going on at the moment. Create your own lifestyle that works for you, that make you feel your best and then keep it up

Thanks so much for reading,
