LITTLE GEMS: The Junk Food Edit! Plus Eating Out at The Con Club, Common Ground at Night, The New Na

As you can see, this week started off well! Above is a beautiful smoothie bowl and I can say it tasted like Summer literally. Then something happened towards the middle of the week and my diet kind of nose dived! Oh dear! The funny thing is, is that we both feel it. This morning when I woke up I was sluggish, my brain was like jelly and I couldn't focus properly. That's when you know the 80/20 rule has seriously swapped around! ha ha!

Anyways, let's start by focusing on all the good things we did this week food wise! Check out this beautiful bowl of porridge with nut butter and berries. Yum!

Courgetti with peas, kale & a basil dressing

I served my courgetti with some salmon and a little grating of parmesan... Maybe this is when the cheese fest began! Ha ha!

Breakfast Omelette with Peppers & Spinach

Super filling and tasty omelette for breakfast this week

This was a random 'let's empty the contents of the fridge into a fry pan and hope for the best' kind of meal. Luckily it was really good! I fried some egg noodles with green veggies and added some oyster and teriyaki sauce. by the way, this bowl is MEGA big! Yes, I did eat it all :)

So this is when the full nose dive actually started! When one of your lovely clients mentions she's cooking a pasta bake and then you get the craving! Oh dear! It was so so delicious! I've never really made it before so I was super chuffed with how it turned out. Above is the tomato sauce as I started to cook it. I thought it looked so pretty!

So I made the tomato sauce fresh which actually was very quick to do. I think I will definitely make this again but maybe a slightly healthier version - you know, with less cheese!!

So with the leftover artichokes, mozzarella and tomatoes, I made an amazing delicious breakfast bruschetta, on Thursday post yoga. I know it's probably not the best thing to have after yoga, but my oh my it tasted so so good!

Takeaway Thursday was taken on the road this week! We decided to try out the new Nando's in Altrincham. It's really nice in there. The decor it super cool and fun. Can't complain really, it was quite busy even though it was late, so we waited around 20 mins for food. It's Nando's though so, it's just standard and consistently good food right? You generally know what you're getting! I'm not a mega fan of the veggie options so I tend to go for lots of sides and a salad. I had the Ceasar salad and it was quite nice. They used the wrong lettuce though - it HAS to be Cos lettuce and it was just leafy greens. Still ok though - I know, first world problems!

Plenty of smoothies this week! This is a berry and spinach one above.

This was a tropical fruit and spinach one. So creamy and delicious. plus they're super filling mid afternoon. I always need something that lasts me till my dinner :)

Friday lunch with my bestie at The Con Club. Can't beat the sushi in this place, plus we swear it's just getting bigger and bigger! It's hilarious watching the person in front of you fit a whole roll in their mouth the same time you're trying to!! Super sexy ha ha!

Had a fab night out on Friday with some lovely friends at Common Ground. They've started opening in the evenings now, how great is that! We just sat outside until the sun set having a really good gossip!

Oh and so prior to this I cooked dinner at home. Fancied some Chinese inspired food so made some Pak Choy and some salmon - the fish is hid under all those veggies! Not made this in so long and it was delish! Served with boiled rice of course.

This Pak Choy was so good. I just made it up as I went along really, but I covered it in a marinade and then stuck it under the grill - it worked!!

Had to try and be better on Saturday morning after all the cheese ha ha! Acai bowls all round!

Acai Bowl with goji berries, chia seeds, cacao nibs, coconut, bee pollen and dried mullberries - bring on them supefoods!

Ooops! I think sometimes you're just too far gone! So, yeh we had a burger from Byron on Saturday night. Love the food here and the staff are so friendly too. Our server said he was vegetarian and wanted to know if we were as well. He said that we could order any burger on the menu and he would just 'veggie' it up! What a great idea! It wasn't the healthiest option, but sod it, it tasted bloody amazing!!

Courgette Fries

Sweet potato fries

Smoky - Bean patty, mature cheddar, crispy onions, shredded iceberg, smoked chilli, BBQ sauce

Oh dear, it just keeps getting worse ha ha! This wasn't too bad, I had an omelette for breakfast again with the usual peppers, onions and roasted potatoes on toasted sourdough. So filling though!

I'm actually looking forwards to a better week of food next week. I actually feel rough after eating all that food! It's so true that you're body can only function on what you feed it. I think an early night is in order and a very large cup of peppermint tea! Next week... I'm starting a rebalance! (I think...)
