If you’ve ever noticed your skin flaring up during a stressful week, you’re not imagining things. The connection between stress and skin is very real and wildly underrated.

When we’re stressed, our bodies pump out cortisol, which can increase inflammation, mess with our microbiome, slow down skin healing, and trigger everything from breakouts and dullness to eczema and rosacea. Not ideal.
But here’s the good news: calming your nervous system can calm your skin. Enter: meditation.
Now I know some of you are thinking... "no, absolutely not Emmaline. I can't meditate. I can't sit still. I don't have time to stop what I'm doing etc. Well, not all meditation is the same and just as an FYI, you don't have to sit still to meditate at all.
Why Meditation is a Skin Essential
Meditation isn’t just for yogis and wellness retreats. It’s a powerful tool that helps you to:
Lower cortisol levels which in turn reduces inflammation and excess oil production.
Improve sleep which is crucial for skin repair and collagen production.
Support hormonal balance which is especially important if your skin likes to throw a tantrum around your cycle.
Enhance circulation for more oxygen and nutrients to the skin.
Stick to your routine because when your mind is calm, you’re far less likely to skip your SPF or binge on dairy and regret it later.

Introducing The Skin Meditation Club
If you’re thinking, “That sounds great but I don’t have time,” I hear you.
That’s exactly why I created The Skin Meditation Club. It's my new podcast designed to help you support your skin and your nervous system in just 5–10 minutes.
Each week, I release two meditations:
A sleep meditation to help your skin repair overnight. (You just put it on before you fall to sleep at night)
A moving meditation for when you’re walking, cleaning, cooking or commuting.
Both are designed with skin health in mind — whether that’s calming inflammation, supporting digestion, improving circulation or simply helping you breathe and reset.
Every episode is targeted to different skin concerns, from hormonal breakouts to premature ageing.
You’ll learn how stress impacts your skin, and how even a few minutes of calm can make a world of difference.
I'd love you to have a listen...
You can listen to The Skin Meditation Club on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your audio fix.
Skincare isn’t just about what you put on your skin. It’s also about what’s going on inside. Meditation is one of the simplest, most underrated ways to support your skin long-term. It's something I've been doing for years now and I'm so excited to share this new little podcast with you.
Thank you so much for reading,
Emmaline
