So I know we're not all big fans of healthy eating. Some things let's be honest taste waaaay better than others and I can completely understand why some people are not so keen on the green juices, herbal teas etc etc. I would say though, sometimes it's just necessary.
If you go to your GP and he prescribes some nasty tasting medicine to get rid of your problem, nine times out of ten you take it right?? So what about your diet? What if your GP prescribed to you a green juice a few mornings a week or a green tea daily, would you take it then? I'm sure you would!
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that sometimes we have to treat the foods we eat like medicine for our bodies. Green juices are fantastic for our systems - the pure veggie kind I mean! Green tea has been shown to reduce the risk of testicular cancer in men and also improve overall health with the antioxidant benefits. Chia seeds are a great source of fibre and protein and so on... So, maybe it's time you tried something that you're a bit unsure of. Sometimes it's a hold your nose jobby and get it down.
What I would say though is that although some things might not taste so great at first, it's only because you're not used to them. I know my hubby used to avoid green juices like the plague when I first started juicing, now he will have a fruit juice when we're out and say it's too sweet! Plus he also says it's not as nice as a good green juice! Once you start eating healthy, your palate changes and you begin to appreciate the fresh ingredients in foods. Especially when you cut out processed foods too, you can start to taste the chemicals in them. I remember back in the day I used to love cheese and onion crisps and now all I can taste is the chemical flavouring. Now I crave fresh ingredients, I wouldn't really even think of eating a chocolate bar laden with sugar, it just doesn't cross my mind.
So, why not change your mindset. Why not look at all the food that you put in your body as medicine and slowly change your palate. Let food be thy medicine and see how much better you feel. You never know, you might even start craving that green juice in the morning as much as I do!
Thanks so much for reading,
