RECIPE: Sun-Dried Tomato & Black Olive Spelt Bread

If you don't know by now, I have a new gadget in my home and it is fabulous! I finally treated myself to a bread-maker and I am obsessed with it!

If you like to eat fresh bread but don't have the time/inclination/know how to make it, then a bread maker is most definitely for you!


I was dubious to start with, it all just seems a bit too simple to be honest but it's real. THIS IS SOOO EASY!


What I have started to do is bung all the ingredients into my bread maker before I go to bed, set the timer and then wake up to the smell of fresh bread. It is that simple really!

Anyway, this is my super easy and yet super tasty sun-dried tomato and black olive spelt bread. Seriously, you can thank me later...


WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 240ml water

  • 2 ¼ tbsp garlic infused olive oil

  • 2 ¼ tbsp coconut sugar

  • 1 ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 ½ tsp dried mixed herbs

  • 332g strong white bread flour

  • 100g spelt flour

  • 1 ¼ tsp fast action yeast

  • 5 sun dried tomatoes finely chopped

  • 15 black olives finely chopped

METHOD

  • Add the ingredients to your bread maker in the order above. Make a well in the flour and add the yeast (to ensure it's not touching any other ingredients).

  • Set your machine to a basic white loaf setting and off you go!

For anybody interested, this is the bread maker I've been using...




I find it's a really great bread maker to begin with - then if you fancy getting something more advanced, you can invest when you're really sure you need it.
