Your Ultimate Skincare Travel Kit

Whether you’re heading off to sun-soaked beaches or planning a weekend escape somewhere else, packing your skincare for travel doesn’t need to be complicated. The trick is to focus on the essentials that keep your skin protected, hydrated and calm, no matter the climate or chaos that comes with leaving your normal routine behind.

Here’s what I always recommend and like to take with me, when it comes to skincare that travels and works really well.

1. Travel-size SPF is non-negotiable

SPF is the first thing that should go in your bag. Whether you’re flying long haul or popping to the Med, UV exposure is always about and even more intense if you're on the slopes or by the sea. Reapplying regularly is key, which is why having a handbag-size bottle is so helpful.

The Nimue SPF 40 and SPF 50 come in travel sizes, making them perfect for topping up on the go. They slot easily into your handbag or hand luggage and give you broad-spectrum protection with antioxidant support. Ideal for any destination, this is absolutely one of my non-negotiables.

2. Your routine in mini form

If you're already using Nimue at home, you’ll love their Starter Kits. These kits are tailored by skin type and include your full routine in cabin approved sizes. You get your cleanser, exfoliant, moisturisers and SPF in one neat pack, so there’s no need to decant or leave behind your favourites.

If you are just going for a short break, Forlle'd also offer a trial set which should last a for a few of days of travel too - plus it comes in a cute little bag too.

Not only does this keep your skin happy and consistent while travelling, it also stops you from panic-buying whatever’s in Duty Free. Your face will thank you (and so will I!)

3. Barrier support is essential

Between recycled airplane air, intense sun, salty water and new environments, your skin barrier can take a hit while travelling. This is where the Nimue Element Barrier steps in. It acts like an invisible coat of armour for your face. Think of it as your skin’s extra defence system.

It protects against temperature extremes, pollution and wind, which makes it great for skiing holidays, desert destinations or anywhere with air-con and dry heat. Layer it over your SPF whenever your skin feels vulnerable or sensitised.

4. A calming moisturiser that works for everyone

I always recommend packing the Nimue Daily Calm and Restore. It is lightweight but nourishing and suitable for almost all skin types. It’s one of those products that quietly gets on with the job, delivering soothing hydration and reducing redness or flare-ups from heat, cold, or unfamiliar tap water.

It is especially helpful if your skin feels overwhelmed by travel, humidity or sun exposure. It layers well with actives but is also beautiful on its own when your skin needs a breather.

5. Hydration from the inside out

Flying and travelling can leave your skin feeling tight and lacklustre. The solution is to support your skin from within, and Skinade travel sachets makes that super easy. These handy sachets pack the same collagen-boosting power as the full-size version, but are lightweight and easy to pack. Simply just mix with water and drink.

Start a few days before your trip and continue daily throughout your travels. You’ll notice the difference in hydration, plumpness and that holiday glow everyone is after. It's also great to repair the skin from sunburn and (believe it or not) can help prevent insect bites too!

6. SOS treatments that save your skin

Sometimes, despite your best efforts, travel throws your skin off. Enter Meder face masks. These are medical-grade masks in individually sealed packs, ideal for post-flight skin, sunburn, or any flare-ups.

They are especially brilliant after long flights or full days in the sun. Keep one or two in your bag and thank yourself later. You’ll look and feel like you’ve had a facial without leaving your room.

These are my skincare non-negotiables when travelling. They keep your skin barrier strong, your complexion even, and your hydration levels up no matter where you're off to.

And if you’re not sure which travel kit is right for your skin, book in for a free Skin Check-In before you go. That way you’ll know exactly what to take and how to use it.

Thank you so much for reading,

Emmaline
