I think that time has finally arrived! Summer holidays are finally here and schools are pretty much finished now. When it comes to travel, we don't always want to take every single skincare item with us, especially if we're just travelling with cabin bags.
So, I have broken down the most important products to take away with you to keep your skin glowing and healthy, but also not so much that you're overwhelmed with products whilst you're away. I would say for me this is the bare minimum
Cleanser
When travelling, it's crucial to have a reliable cleanser that can remove dirt, sweat, and impurities accumulated throughout the day. You also want something that is active enough to remove all your SPF and sweat from the day without being too harsh.
I'm a little bit obsessed with the Revision Papaya Enzyme Cleanser at the moment. I feel it gives my skin a great cleanse without stripping the barrier at all. It's like a face wash and so you don't have to use a face cloth with it and it can be used in the shower too.
Face Cream
Keeping your skin moisturised is essential, especially when you're exposed to different climates. A good face cream will help keep your skin hydrated, smooth, and plump, preventing dryness and irritation. A great option is the Forlle'd Basing Emulsion as it's super lightweight and yet incredibly hydrating.
Another option is the Revision Intellishade® TruPhysical. This is an all in one daily anti-ageing, medical grade moisturiser, mineral SPF 45 and tint all in one. Great if you are really tight on travel space and you don't want to take lots of products with you.
Face Masks
Face masks are a great way to give your skin a little extra TLC while you're on holiday. They can provide deep hydration, soothe sunburn, and revitalise tired skin. We tend to feel like we don't need to do masks on holiday but they are so useful, especially if you get sunburn or dehydrated skins.
My favourites to take away have to be the Meder HYDRA-FILL which can be done even on the plane to prevent your skin getting too dehydrated (you can also keep the serum in the sachet and use it each day to extend your treatment).
Also, the Nimue Anti-Ageing Leave On Mask is brilliant for holidays. I love this because it's what I would call a 'lazy mask'. You just cleanse the skin, apply the mask and go to sleep with it on. It's hydrating and plumping so just what you need after a day in the sun and air con!
Sunscreen (SPF)
Never underestimate the importance of a good sunscreen. Protecting your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays is crucial to prevent sunburn, premature ageing, and skin cancer. My favourite is always the Nimue Sun-C SPF 40 as it's so nourishing and packed with antioxidants, but if you wanted one with a built in tint then the Revision Intellishade® TruPhysical, Nimue Sun-C Tinted SPF 40 or the SkinBetter Tone Smart are great options.
Vitamin C
For a beauty boost from the inside out, vitamin C supplements are a must-have. Vitamin C supports your skin's health and hydration and boosts collagen production, helping to keep it glowing and youthful. It's a wonderful antioxidant which is so important when we are in the sun, plus it also can help keep those pesky bugs at bay!
Don't forget to take your vitamins when you go away. I love to take either my Skinade Travel Sachets or the Altrient-C to keep on top of my skin health and immunity.
Packing the right skincare products for your holiday ensures that you maintain your skincare routine and protect your skin from the elements. These are my favourite essentials to help you look and feel your best, no matter where your travels take you.
